L'Arche Noah Sealth of Seattle is a community where people with and without intellectual disability share life together in our three homes on Capitol Hill. Our community is one of 17 L'Arche communities in the United States and 137 across the globe, striving to live in mutual relationship, creating inclusive communities of faith and friendship, and transforming society by developing strong interpersonal connections that cross social boundaries. Our community, like the city of Seattle, gets its name from the 19th century Duwamish leader - Chief Sealth.
Our community provides homes and day activities for twelve people with developmental disabilities (Core Members). They are supported by caregivers (Assistants) who come from around the country and the world to live and share life.
Founded in 1975, from the prayers, generosity and hard work of St. Pat's parishioners, our community maintains a close connection to the Parish. Many Core Members and Assistants are parishioners and attend weekly mass at St. Pat's. We are greeters, cross bearers, Eucharistic ministers, volunteers, committee members and coffee hour enthusiasts. Our Deaf members cherish the ASL interpreted mass and extended Deaf community at St. Pat's. St. Pat's is a beloved faith community to many members and an extended support system to our entire community.
