St Pat’s and St Joe’s LGBTQ+ ministries invite you to our Hidden Mercy Book Group! Feb 2nd and 9th at 7PM via ZOOM. Hidden Mercy tells stories of Catholic responses to the AIDS epidemic. The author, Michael O’Loughlin, is coming to Seattle U to talk about his book on 2/16 at 7pm. He sent his book to Pope Francis. The Pope’s loving response was published in America magazine. We’d like a chance for anyone interested to come together to talk about Hidden Mercy before Michael O’Loughlin's talk. Hidden Mercy is available at Elliott Bay Books and coming to Oh Hello Again book store (324 15th Ave East). You can contact John Dunn 206/604-6627 (text only) or Chris Galloway 206/450-4971 (text only), with any questions.
If you don’t read the book, or even if you do, you might want to listen to Mr O'Loughlin's podcast, Plague: untold stories AIDS and the Catholic Church. The podcast was the inspiration for the book Hidden Mercy. The podcast includes the voices and stories of people the author interviewed. Powerful and very moving. In any case, we'd love to have you join our first ever, two-parish joint venture book study. All are welcome!
